Beyond - The Musical

Albert Mallard has been written off since he was a child. Severe psychological difficulties leave him socially and mentally isolated . Albert is a victim, bullied by all around him except his devoted mother and unable to protect himself, he seems destined for a miserable existence.
But when a computer with a past is delivered to his home without explanation from local businessman Samuel Henshall, Albert at last finds something he can communicate with and his world begins to change. With the help of the computer’s memory to compensate for his own shortcoming, Albert sets out on a journey through his missing past and makes some shocking discoveries.
When Henshall realises his mistake, he decides to get the computer back for himself. It’s a race against time for Albert to find out the truth behind his father’s disappearance before Henshall catches up with him.

Beyond is an original work written by Phil Corbett and Andy Durham with music composed by Sarah Corbett. It will be premiered by Oskar Foxtrot Productions this summer in Stowmarket before Oskar Foxtrot Musicals open it for general sale.

Beyond contains fourteen songs with full musical score, and has a running time of about two and a half hours. It is particularly suitable for 11-20 year olds but can be adapted for an adult group. There are about twenty speaking parts ranging from a couple of lines to 5 major roles, though some of the parts can easily be cut.
